CyberPeace Miners is a Minecraft-based project that makes cybersecurity education accessible and engaging for all ages.

CyberPeace Miners is an inventive, interactive educational tool that reimagines the delivery of cybersecurity education. Utilizing the universally recognized gaming platform, Minecraft, this project presents a unique fusion of engaging gameplay and key cybersecurity knowledge.

This Minecraft map, playable without the need for any mods or texture packs, provides a diverse landscape where users traverse through multiple levels. Each level is designed to educate and test players on essential cybersecurity concepts. These topics range from the importance of robust passwords, the use of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), understanding and using Virtual Private Networks (VPN), identifying and responding to ransomware threats, to comprehending the consequences of Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks and phishing emails.

By focusing on immersive, experiential learning, it allows players to understand and apply cybersecurity principles in real-time situations, thereby enhancing their learning and retention.

Our target audience spans from young teenagers beginning to explore the digital realm to adults in the workforce who require a better grasp of cybersecurity. Through leveraging a universally appealing platform, we aim to make cybersecurity knowledge engaging and accessible to all.

In an increasingly digital world, CyberPeace Miners is dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves online. By merging gaming and education, we're making cybersecurity learning not just an imperative, but also an enjoyable and exciting journey.

This level offers a hands-on understanding of password security and the importance of strong passwords. You will encounter challenges that put your comprehension of passwords to the test.

In this level, you'll navigate through various scenarios to learn about the importance and application of Two-Factor Authentication. It will require strategic thinking and a good understanding of the 2FA concept.

This level uses engaging gameplay mechanics to demonstrate the use of VPNs. It shows how VPNs can provide a secure route in potentially hazardous digital spaces.

Here, you will face a simulated ransomware attack situation that requires quick thinking and decision-making skills. The level aims to convey the urgency and high-stakes environment of a real ransomware attack.

This level focuses on educating players about phishing threats. It tests your ability to identify phishing attempts under time constraints.

This level aims to demonstrate the disruptive impact of DDoS attacks. You'll experience first-hand how such an attack can affect accessibility to a digital resource.

The map is available for Minecraft Java 1.20.1.

Click on the button to download the map:

On MacOS

  1. Unzip the downloaded file: Double-click on the downloaded file to unzip it. You'll see a folder that has the same name as the downloaded file
  2. Open a new Finder window.
  3. Click “Go” on the top menu, then select "Go to Folder.”
  4. Type in ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves and hit Enter.
  5. Move the unzip file from the downloaded folder to the save file

On Windows

  1. Unzip the downloaded file. You can do this by right-clicking the downloaded file and selecting "Extract All...".
  2. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run command.
  3. Type in %appdata%\.minecraft\saves\ and hit Enter.
  4. Move the unzipped folder to the "saves" folder: Simply drag and drop the extracted folder into the "saves" folder.

Now, you can launch Minecraft (make sure you close and reopen Minecraft if it was open during this process).
When you start the game and select "Single player", you should see the new map in the list of worlds.

The map is available for Minecraft Bedrock 1.20.12.

Click on the button to download the map:

1. Open the File:
Once the download is complete, open the file. Minecraft Bedrock will automatically launch and begin importing the map.
2. Start the Adventure:
After the import, open Minecraft Bedrock and navigate to the ‘My Worlds’ tab. Here, you will find ‘CyberPeace Miners’ ready to be launched.
3. Explore and Learn:
Open the map and immerse yourself in the world of cybersecurity while having fun!

Note: Ensure that Minecraft Bedrock is installed on your device before attempting to open the "CyberPeace Miners Bedrock.mcworld" file.
